My First Live Poker Game

I’ve recently acquired a new poker vice. I’ve known the procedure of playing hands for a while, but for the past half year I’ve been studying and playing Texas Hold’em online on PokerStars (prodigy910). Despite being in the red as far as career earnings, I can honestly say that it’s something I enjoy doing, and my learning experience has been one of my more enjoyable ones (in kind of a masochistic sense sometimes, but don’t judge me.) I’ve charged myself with at least regaining what I’ve lost, and as soon as I clear my plate as far as school and work goes, I can make more progress toward that goal.

I played my first live game yesterday during the Super Bowl. I came out in the black, so that was pretty cool. Live poker is so much different than online poker. Ignoring the fact that I had the virgin jitters (which I hope wasn’t visible to everyone else) I couldn’t control my environment as much as I usually can by locking myself in my room with my Mac. It was a good experience, though. My friend Steve invited me to what is going to be my second live event, so we’ll see how that goes!

The Income-Outcome Game

In my senior project course, we had the pleasure of having some folks from Andromeda Training visit and demonstrate their business visualization game called “The Income-Outcome Game.” I loved going through the simulation, and learned a lot from the process. I would recommend them to anyone looking to increase financial literacy or business insight in their organization.
